Kenneth Michael Wehrlie

Ken Wehrlie, A.K.A. Uncle Ken, A.K.A. K-Dub was always a joyful soul. Ken grew up in Concord and during his high school years he was a member of a traveling roller hockey team. He graduated from Mt. Diablo High School in 1991. As an Eagle Scout Ken loved being in nature. He delighted in fishing and camping with his twin brother Marty and dad Mike. After high school Ken worked at CYO Camp Caritas in Occidental, CA for a few years as an office manager and naturalist. He enjoyed working with the teens at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church’s Youth Group for many years. Ken was also a published photographer, sharing with the world many glimpses of sunsets and land formations.

Ken worked for Pacific Gas & Electric Co. for over 33 years in the gas department. During this time he remained close to his childhood Boy Scout Troop, assisting with many Eagle Scout projects and teaching tenants of merit badges.

Ken adored his niece. He taught her to fish, & repair many things. He loved to take his mom bowling on Sunday afternoons and would always make sure there were enough fries and rings for the games!

Ken was extremely generous with his time and talents. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity for many years with his brother Marty. His care and compassion for others knew no bounds. Whether it was fixing something in your house, teaching a coworker a new skill or just about anything you needed, Ken was there to show you the way.

Ken loved our Lord and his family with all his heart.

Ken is preceded in death by his loving father, Michael, cousins, and a few close friends. Ken is survived by his mother, Laura, his brother Marty & partner Cathy, his sister Darlene and nieces Shayna Rose, Taylor, Chloe and Maddie.
